The scope of customer accounts can be limited to the website where the account was created, or shared with all websites and stores in the store hierarchy.
Thus, a customer must create an account for each website in the store hierarchy or can use an account for all websites and stores in the store hierarchy.
You can configure this feature in the Magento 2 Admin Panel with the steps below:
Steps To Configure Customer Account Scope In Magento 2
Step 1: Log in to Admin Panel.
Step 2: On the Admin Panel sidebar, go to Stores > Settings > Configuration.
Step 3: In the left panel, choose CUSTOMERS > Customer Configuration.
Step 4: Expand the Account Sharing Options section.
Step 5: Set Share Customer Accounts.
- Global: Shares customer account information with every website and store in the Magento installation.
- Per Website: Limits customer account information to the website where the account was created.
Step 6: When complete, click Save Config button.
