In this post, I will guide you on How To Configure Order Item Status To Enable Downloads In Magento 2. Defines order status to allow downloadable by customer.

As we all know, Magento 2 offers 6 product types. This function is for the downloadable product type. Depending on the business requirements, the seller can set up an order item status so that the customer can download the product. The seller can allow customers to download products after creating an invoice or when payment is being processed and the order status is still pending.

Follow the steps below to configure this feature.

Steps To Configure Order Item Status To Enable Downloads

Step 1: Log in to Admin Panel.

Step 2: On the Admin Panel sidebar, go to Stores > Settings > Configuration.

Step 3: In the left panel, choose CATALOG > Catalog.

Step 4: Expand the Downloadable Product Options section.

Step 5: Untick Use system value and set Order Item Status to Enable Downloads to one of following:

• Pending.
• Invoiced.

Step 6: When complete, click Save Config button.
